Fajr Muhammad is a writer, editor, and cultural critic. Her work is rooted in the interior lives of Black people — the societies, the silences, and the places that shape them.

Fajr holds an MFA in Fiction from Columbia University and co-edited the 2022 anthology How we stay free: notes on a black uprising from Common notions press and the paul robeson house & museum.

she writes criticism and essays at Rare Form. Her debut novel, Glory Days, is currently in development.
